Hi I am trying to change the IP of some VM's that were deployed and got it's address from the network profile. I had to adjust the range that the profile provides and now I need these deployments to get new IP's.

Vra 7.2 aws endpoint questions
hi
with the aws endpoint now embedded with vra 7.2 whereas before you had the aws management pack in vro. How do you go about creating subsets, vco, etc. all the other stuff besides just creating instances of AMIs?

Deploying VMware VIO Openstack via VRA
Anyone out there deploying openstack images in vRA using the VMware Intergrated Openstack vCO plugin? Looking for a little help with the deploy a heat stack workflow.
When setting up the workflow one of the inputs is "template_content" where you are supposed to copy and paste the HEAT HOT Template content. It appears my content is not cutting the mustard because the workflow pukes trying to parse YAML content.
Anybody out there have this working and if so would you please be so kind as to share the content of the template file
Thanks

VRA and remote DataCenter
hey all,
going to open a case with VMware around this, but anyone got some experience with this?
we have multiple datacenters and don't want to deploy a VRA per datacenter.
I know that the proxy agent for vCenter should be sitting close to the vCenter, are there any other recommendations/best practises? is there a document I missed?
a) VRO. VRA relies heavily on vRO, however a lot of our workflows are running commands on remote vCenter including communication directly with the VMs (injecting scripts etc). I have no issues creating a 2nd vRO for the remote vCenter if needs be, but should it be close to VRA or close to vCenter?
b) software installations: I'm using the guest agent to install software. here the VM is communicating directly with the vRA (latency, noise, etc). In one case I got a timeout which I believe might have been because of this. are there timeout values that can be increased? any best practise/tips/ideas here?

vRA Agent Status Down - how to monitor..
Hi Folks,
is there a URL or something on the Agent server that we can query to find out the status of the vCenter agents? ( or where can we get that information). I know I can see it in the 'compute resource' in the GUI, but I'm not going to be checking that 24x7 :-) , I'd like to have a vRO workflow that polls to see the status, and alert me if it's down, ( I'd even expand that to auto restart the service :-)) , but I can't seem to find where I could check for that status.
Thanks in advance,
John.
Set/Override GuestOS setting in VM deployment
Hello everyone,
I have an empty VM template (no OS installed), that was created with the OS Version set to "SUSE Linux Enterprise 12 (64-Bit)." When I clone a VM from this template, I get an empty VM, set for use with SUSE 12 64-Bit. What I want is to allow the user to change this setting before deployment in VRA.
I have tried to override this setting in VRA using the following properties:
VirtualMachine.Config.GuestId
vim.vm.GuestOsDescriptor.GuestOsIdentifier
vm.GuestOsDescriptor.GuestOsIdentifier
VirtualMachine.GuestOsDescriptor.GuestOsIdentifier
With a value of 'rhel6_64Guest'. None of these have worked, and the VM is always cloned as SUSE 12 64-bit.
Can anyone tell me what the correct property to set would be? For example, I can override some network settings by manually creating a property named 'VirtualMachine.Network0.Name'.
Thanks,
Tanner
API Call to all tenants
I'm running a vRA 7.0.1 environment and wondered if anyone has had luck making API calls, whether via CloudClient or any other method, that includes All Tenants rather than just the one you're authenticated with? When in the vRA website, I have the ability to see all property definitions, whether for "this tenant" or "all tenants". However, via API I'm only allowed to see the list for tenant I'm connected to. Is there a way to manage that via API at a higher level? Is there any sort of all tenants property or flag I could set for example?
The driver for this is to programmatically export several things including property definitions. I need to do this regardless of tenant. Any tips or guidance is appreciated!
Require "Description" be filled out on requests? Also question on hostname + prefix
Hi all - because "Description" on a VM request fills in the "notes" section with in vCenter, is there a way to make it required? I need it for figuring out what the heck our developers are using these servers for as they come and go.
Additionally, I have a custom property on my blueprint setup as "Hostname" and then the user can specify the hostname/machine name. However, I was hoping that this would get appended to the machine prefix for the business group but it does not. Instead of user putting in "webserver1" I'd rather it get [prefix]+webserver1 as the VM name. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Getting the values from a dynamic dropdown menu through an API call
Hello,
I have a blueprint that has a dynamic dropdown menu (VRO action) and when I request that blueprint and trigger the dropdown I get the list I need.
Is it possible to see that list from an API call?
Thanks.

vRA to vRO workflow mapping
Does anyone know if there is a way to find out what vRO workflow run correlates to a particular vRA request? That is, I request something in vRA, how can I find out what vRO workflows were involved in satisfying the request? I need to do this for IAAS as well as XAAS. BTW, this is for vRA 6.2.
Thanks!

vRA 7.2 Adding computer to Active Directory OU
I am using new feature in vRA 7.2 to create a Active Directory policy to add a computer to OU
I have successfully created vRO Active Directory EndPoint and also created policy with OU information.
I am using ext.policy.ActiveDirectory.id in blueprint customer property and I do see workflow is kicking off in vRO. However it is failing to add the computer and I see following error in the server.log
Any idea why this workflow is failing

vRA "public" URL kicks over to IaaS .local URL
Hello all - I have a vRA 7.2 environment that I am using to trial some things before going live with it. My ideal solution will be having clients be able to access my vRA deployment by going to cloud.domain.com/vcac/org/[client] - I have this working, except when they have to authenticate, it's kicking them to the FQDN of my IaaS server and that was installed/configurated (wizard) at its internal FQDN of IaaS1.domain.local - obviously this will not work on the internet (or even internally if clients don't get .local resolution).
What am I missing here? Thanks!
